In preparing for this challenge, I spent some time viewing Beata's gallery and I found her portfolio an assemblage of stories with an eclectic view of her world told through her camera lens. She was a storyteller and she used the camera to capture fairy gold.
Inspired by one of her images from this past spring—a worn baseball that seemed to tell a lifetime of stories—I instantly thought of my own baseball glove, and I wanted to honor Beata with a final tribute.
This isn't a recreation of her photograph. It's a small echo of it — one photographer reaching toward another's eye for something worn, something quiet, something that held a story before the camera ever found it.
In memory of Beata Barbara Gilbert. Gone silent, but not forgotten.
