Thank you for the comments and the votes! This was a shot on a boat and the horizon is the ocean meeting the sky. I loved the pensive and peaceful look it conveyed superimposed witht the chaos of her hair. I also liked how some of her strands of hair seemed to reach for the horizon line.
This was a challenge favorite for me. The extended negative space above the subject's head and the title were the finishing touches for me. I could be wrong, but it seemed to me you were evoking something of a modern cinematic take on traditional eastern Orthodox religious iconography?
Ok so maybe this just did not get the correct title, but IMO this one doesn't take away from the image somehow. I LOVE the composition, layers, hair, monochrome. I'll bet it was a wonderful time to remember. Bump.
Normally, I would hate a photograph of this mess, but... there's something about it that has drawn me in and I've looked at it for a long time studying it and its appeal.
