Again a digitally very manipulated photo (of course everything legal according the DPC rules). I know that kind of stuff is not so accepted here on DPC but I love it and I think it fits to the challenge theme.
I did the following changes: - invert - curves changed so that the now white person is black (actually dark blue) again (I feel that this looks better) - desaturated and darkened green, cyan and blue - contast/brightness - down scaling - unsharp mask (creates a little "glow" effect around the person)

Initial thoughts High impact with obvious emotional message.
Composition/ Content I like the composition of this image – the balance of the “implosion” with the leaning man and the grassy earth is strong.
The stance of the man is highly emotive – he looks drained, tired, sad, despairing.
The “white” highlights in what is otherwise a silhouette are also interesting as are the “white” plants.
Background If one takes the “implosion” as the background – I like it – great shape and the texture is kind of like paint brush strokes.
Camera Work - Technical Hard to tell.
Digital Processing - Technical I am really no expert on this style of post-processing so I don’t know how to comment. Given that the image is high impact and emotive I’d hazard that the processing has achieved what you intended.
Fits The Challenge Yes.
My Opinion On The Photo I like it and find it interesting but wouldn’t personally want it on my wall/ in my house.
I was very surprised to see how the score had risen during the week. Never expected such a high score for this kind of photo. So I'm very happy, especially because many said that even they normally don't like this kind of digitally manipulated images, they think it works well for this theme. But beware, this only encourages me to refine my skills in digital work ;)
See the "Photographer's Comments" for a description how I did the effect. It was not done with an infrared filter as some suspected, I don't own one (yet!). The "trick" is the colour inversion.
Thanks to all for your feedback. Very appreciated!
People will ask to disqualify your photo I'm sure. I personally think it's excellent! Right on par with the theme. Very dramatic. Excellent framing. 9/10
I'n not usually keen on "special effects" but this looks good to me. My only problem is the angle the person is at - it looks like they are about to fall over.
