Remembering we have an international audience I should probably clarify: What I was hoping to convey with that tongue-in-cheek title is that this image really captures the childlike joy of the ice cream truck with its bright colors and tantalizing pleasures. I don't know that anyone ever outgrows that--and I think Parr would have been tickled by this sight.

Thank you. I didn't know if you were aware that that was a self portrait! Getting old is not fun but one learns to accept reality and be able to laugh about it! Ice cream is a weakness of mine. There is a little story about this picture. When the challenge appeared and after looking at Parr's portfolio it brought to mind the ice cream truck parked in a side lot I have passed many times. I actually thought that one day I might be able to use it in a challenge. The trick was getting a soft ice cream cone to the truck and get a picture of it before it melted. Amazon is a wonderful thing. I bought a plastic party favor one online to use in the picture!! |
