Composition-I could nit pick the top of his head is gone, but really it's so minor.

Excellent photograph! The best touch to this photograph for me was the wedding ring, I'm glad you got in in the photo. My only comment is that he is a little crowded on the left side of the photograph. 10
Forgive me if this is a different photographer but I believe this photo belongs in the Stock Photo challenge. It is much better than the other submission. This photo doesn't reflect despair in my opinion. I do think this a very nice shot. If you had the soldier looking to the right I think it would have been better. There's too much negative space on the right for this guy to be looking forward. This picture would have gotten an 8 in the other challenge but I'm giving it a 5 here. Sorry I don't see despair.
