Take an image that captures the bond between domestic animals and humans.
There's a shrine on the dunes above the beach. The shrine is in the form of a cross. It is in memory of a very good friend of mine who drowned at that spot a few years ago whilst diving for oysters. Aimee my doglet was very very fond of him and he of her. We sometimes go visit that spot together and then I talk to Aimee and tell her that the cross is for us to remember Kosie by and that one day we shall see Kosie again in heaven, all of us together and it's as if Aimee somehow realizes that I'm talking about Kosie. In fact I know she recognizes his name when I mention it as she then always pricks up her ears. And then on this occasion she just stood there and looked out to sea and it was such a poignant moment and then I took this snap with my cellphone.
And then I added those words which form my title...of course I have no idea if that is what she was actually experiencing but that's a bit of artistic freedom/lisence ;)
But I do believe that she realizes that the sea took Kosie and I know that she misses him.
