Look up Claude Monet's Water lillies or paintings of Waterloo Bridge. Some have detail but some are more abstract, all emphasizing the light and reflections and using brush strokes, to me often not unsimilar to rain drops.

I get the concept, but feel like there should be SOME detail for impressionism. But then, I'm not an art studcent, so I could be totally wrong. If so, my apologies. Good luck.
