DSC08433
I haven't used, or attempted, any night sky photography since Covid. Dusted off the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer, and tried to remember how to use it. :-) Not quite sure I'm 100% up to speed on it again. May have to figure it out this summer.
Anyway. I mounted the Sony A7II to this with a Pentax 85/1.9 (m42) at first, but was getting some serious chroma on the brighter stars. Since I had the Sony 7RIII and 24/1.4 mounted on a regular tripod already, I went back in the house and grabbed a 100/2.8 macro lens to experiment with. Crisp images. Not as bright, but it worked. Randomly lined up some areas of the sky to see what I might get. ... and here's my fav of the bunch. Just a star field mostly, with a glimpse of (M81) Bode's Galaxy (placed on the lower-right ROT point).
Exactly a 30 second exposure. :-)
From facts.net ...
"Bode's Galaxy (M81) is a stunning spiral galaxy with billions of stars, including massive blue stars. It's 12 million light-years away and has a supermassive black hole at its core."
