No secret on the perspective - nor, indeed, any fancy equipment. I have a small (well, compared to my normal camera gear) Panasonix Lumix that I like to carry when I go out for neighborhood walks because it's quite lightweight. It also has the advantage of having a versatile range - 20-1200 AND, critical for the ball drop and subsequent bounces in this situation, a nice burst. It was early afternoon, sun and shadows were strong. I positioned myself to have my own shadow behind me, leaned over, pointed the camera down at the ground, and shot. Lots of fodder to play with later.
