I always thought this was a very odd title for the movie. Last week I found out, it is part of a nursery rhyme. Who knew.
So this is my take - a bit child like with the flying dog drifting through the air on balloons, a bit dream like with the colours, the atmosphere, the round surface disappearing into no-where and the cuckoo's nest of course for the madness supported by the circling bats.
