As you all are probably aware from the number of hummingbird entries I have submitted I have spent quite a bit of time in my backyard photographing them. They have gotten quite used to me being around. They are quite intelligent and know where their feeders are. When I remove one to clean and refill they wait for me to return to the same place to rehang the feeder. They fly around me so closely that I can feel the wind from their wings. I thought it would be fun to try to get a picture of this activity for this challenge. There were 2 or 3 of them who were willful participants. This was one of the better shots of the many I took. I set up the camera on a tripod, pre-focused and used a remote trigger as they flew around me to investigate. PS. That is a yellow jacket just in the lower right mid forearm area. They compete with the Hummers for the sugar water and can be very pesky.

What a fun idea. I wish he was holding the cup higher, so that the bird and his face were closer to the same plane. 6 for the idea, and as is, but there's so much you could do with this.

and now i can see why you are getting some amazing hummingbird photos .. you just ask them to jump and they ask how high .. !! ..
