Rain can be a photographer’s best creative friend offering an opportunity to push the artistic boundaries with water reflections. The moments the rain momentarily seized offered a serene reflection. The trick was to light the bike with enough light from the front in order to accentuate the shape and colours but at the same time not to spill on the three orange gel small flashes concealed behind the bike. Furthermore, the white light was angled in a way where it did not noticeably reflect on the water. During Lightroom post production the ambience was reserved, but if you notice closely there is grass growing on the lower part of the bike. This is because the image is flipped and the bike on the top, is actually the bike reflected in the water. By doing this, the sky takes different shape and colouration giving the image a more atmospheric, space like feel. The faded rainbow colours on the right of the image are slick (thin layer of oil floating on the water surface).
