These are the hands of Fidel Martinez, a master from San Bartolo Coyotepec, a village in Oaxaca, Mexico. This village is known for "Barro negro", pitch-black ceramic pottery. But Fidel and other members of multi-generational Martinez family elevated this craft to the level of art: they make not just pots and pans, but elaborate miniature sculptures with which they won a considerable international acclaim. We were fortunate that our tour guide who knows Fidel personally, brought us to his workshop where Fidel showed us his creative process

Congrats on the blue!
I was completely entranced by your link to the Martinez family. What incredibly beautiful artwork. Each artist has such a unique view that they are bringing to their art.
