 I didn’t shoot this picture for this challenge. Mrs Pugamuffin here had got into a fight (which she started) in our absence and the eye was for all intents and purposes dead. She was booked in to have it removed the day after this picture. Then, about an hour after this was taken the bulldog ran into her while playing and literally burst it. Traumatic to say the least. She looked like she’d been shot in the head. The vets is only about 10 mins away so she got sorted quickly and remains there overnight as I write this story.

Actually, it doesn’t change the outcome - the eye was going in the morning anyway. But this is a sad, but authentic, picture.

OMG .. that must have been .. i'm at a loss for words .. traumatic, terrible, gut wrenching ..
i hope mrs ragamuffin has recovered from such a horrific time ..

my brother and his wife had a cairn terrier who i looked after quite a lot .. he had a glaucoma .. i think it was .. in one eye which they were treating him for .. but eventually he lost his sight in that eye .. he carried on really well for several years with one eye ..
unfortunately on a walk in the bush he walked into a stick and punctured his other eye and went totally blind immediately .. he lived for another two years blind .. going for walks etc .. but taking out the other eye in such a freak accident was so sad .. :(
