The seasons of the day, morning, afternoon and evening, are shuffled together, as betold by the mosaic of lights and darks. In this manner the entire day, maybe not the night here, is seen as an entirety, all at a glance. It's implied that time is not a procession but a total integration into which you can peer at everything at once. Or maybe not, just saying.
