This was a very special shoot: my first since my accident last October. And it was sooooooooo much fun. The handsome man is none other than Dave Koz, with his 5-month puppy, Buddy. And they were both ROCK STARTS posing for me.
I normally do these portraits by myself; it's easier, faster, and when it comes to dogs especially, ANY extraneous movement or sound can mess up a shot. However, as I'm still unable to lift anything heavy yet, I needed an assistant, and my good friend Adrien (also a photographer) was just brilliant.
Buddy was hilarious, and as a result, I was blessed with an embarrassment of riches when it came to choosing the best shot. I just had so many. I don't think I could have gone wrong with any of them, but this little duet seemed to be extra special.

So happy that you're doing well, feeling better and engaging in the photographic life.
This was one of my favorites. Very engaging and fun.
You bring a sparkle to us all.
My favorite, too, Johanna, but of course you had some incredible competition. Congratulations on the ribbon and, even more, on your slow but steady recovery. Hang in there, girl.
Oh Johanna! It is so WONDERFUL to see you back!!!! And right back into the winners’ circle if course!! What a delightful portrait! I’d love to emulate it sometime in my pet photos! Mega congratulations on all fronts here!!!!
