 This is one of my favorite waitresses at my favorite restuarant.

She actually wants to be a mermaid.
She told me about the fin and how the fin and tail go away while on land.

I hope someone will let me know why this is bombing.

It's a 5.000 with 20 votes. Two days left in voting.

I do believe it's one of my most favorite images that I've created. So... I'm baffled.


I know it goes that way sometimes (most times, maybe... Ha! ) But, I'd like to know why people don't like this, please.

I think this is really charming, and the color palette is lovely. But it doesn't draw me in for some reason. It might be the pose, the expression (which is a little standoffish)... And as others have pointed out, the style is sort of a hybrid between cartoon and real. Or maybe it's just Tuesday.

I gave it a 6. I agree with Tim that the expression of the mermaid somehow detracts from the image. Also the combination of real and surreal do not somehow blend well together. I can’t quite put my finger on it. For instance the mermaid’s hair looks like a wig. I like the concept but I think it needs more work!

rather sweet. most of it is a lovely watercolour dream, but the very real cheeky face kind of gives it the lie, if that makes any sense.
