This is the Atlantic. There is a Lake Worth on the other side of the barrier island. It is actually now a lagoon, but at one time it was a fresh water lake until people dug through the barrier to the ocean to get access for their boats. The town is called Lake Worth Beach so that is what this ocean beach is called.
