One of three personal favorites of the challenge. The modulations of sea, fog, sky and clouds are gorgeous. The pole and bird are perfect punctuation, seemingly, but not at all necessarily, justification for the whole. Wouldn't do poorly in a minimalism challenge.
All is calm! Looking at this I understand how you thought my entry was not low contrast. To me, lack of shadows (there are certainly none here) and any contrast in lighting is key. But I think low contrast can still include a subject.
I agree, mine is an extreme example of low contrast. I now added an additional explanation to yours.
