I was out mowing the lawn and and noticed this large female Carpenter Bee in the tall grass. I ran and got my camera for some shots. It was rather preciously parked there and `she kept having to adjust her position as the blade of grass kept moving under her weight, which accounts for her awkward stance. I entered this early in the month as a place holder and meant to come back to it, but forgot to before the challenged ended, hence the weird title. Thank you for you comments and votes.

this is an incredible insect macro ..
but my first thought when i saw it was it looked liked the insect was put there .. and not natural ..
would love to hear that it was ok and flew off .. :)
It is pin sharp, colours are great but still it does not wow me. The position and the legs create an impression as if the animal is dead and balancing across the leaf. (it might not be, but still)
