I know you were trying something different here.... but the impact of this photo was not created by the colour yellow - the impact is created by the red.
As for the technical merits of the photo - I like the DOF here, but there are a bunch of distracting splotches on the background that you should look to remove before shooting.
sadly, i already know what most of your comments say: "not yellow".
well, I'm not voting, only commenting, so I'll comment on the picture, cuz i don't give a hoot about the rest :)
I like the idea behind it. the shallow depth is nice, and the sharp focus on the rose petals really hammers it home. there's a green cast to the 'yellow' that i don't like much. i looks like the colour of hospital walls or something.the background, while a little chaotic, actually adds to the composition ini my mind. a bunch of right angles to contrat against the soft curves of the rose.
the shot is nice but it has nothing to do with the challenge and doesn't even have an elemant of yellow, so shot wise it is nice but it has no pertinance for this challenge.
"Photograph your interpretation of the color yellow."---->" The color yellow MUST lead to the impact of the photo."-(ie. must be in the shot and a mian elemant if not the subject)
dont really think the impact of the photo is yellow, it screams RED to me! even though the background is kinda yellow. Still its a nice photo, shame it aint a yellow rose!
