thankyou so much everyone for your lovely comments and votes .
i had in mind something with the birds that come to my bird bath for this extended free study .. but didnt know in what direction it would go .. that would depend on the photographs i took ..
which went over three or four days ..
was extremely challenging photographing the birds .. action shots are not my forte .. :)
i actually set up the tripod aimed at the birdbath so i could have a background and just shoot birds and stitch the birds and the birdbath together easily . epic fail ..
i hardly ever use the tripod and the ball socket wasnt working properly .. so to set the focus point i had to aim it a fair bit above where i wanted it because when i tightened the screw it would drop down ... getting that spot right was extremely difficult and time consuming ... so I ditched the tripod idea .. :(
the light was constantly changing as well .. and because the birdbath is under a tree the light isnt that good for action shots even when its sunny ..
all that is whatever .. because it was a really good learning experience .. so i'm grateful for that ... and so pleased that it did well in the challenge .. :)

It seems I'm one of your 5s. Not sure why I scored it so low because that's not what it deserved. If I'd voted correctly you'd have got the blue. Sorry.
the droplets were really coming off the flying birds ... i was lucky that the background for the birdbath was sorta similar to where the birds were flyng above it ..
and thankyou Lydia ... :)
The expressions on the birds' faces are just fabulous! Curious little one looking at a butterfly, flyers pointed intently skyward, angry squabblers, and a bathing bird who has no intention of getting out of the bath yet.
