This was just outside our back door at the vacation rental we stayed at in Maine. And it's not over-saturated. It REALLY looked like that. We kept all the blinds and curtains open, and were woken up each morning at sunrise by the most amazing colors and light. For this morning, I got up early and set up while it was still dark. A cute little skunk scared me half to death rustling near by. I was sure it was a bear or a mountain lion and I'd be eaten soon... but then... the little fellow climbed up on the pier with me and just sat there inches from my feet and watched me for a few minutes before scampering off. It really was an idyllic place!

That's one of the things I love about USA that you can stay at a vacation rental right near an amazing view like this!
And I can't believe you stood there near that skunk! I mean I heard you do not want to be sprayed by one of them, it's the most horrendous smells ever! But then again it's better than being eaten by a bear I guess :)

i'm imagining this with an old wooden boardwalk .. or whatever its called .. going out into the lake instead of that metal one .. how much more atmospheric it would be .. just my opinion of course ..
