I know there's not much to this, but I had hoped it would do better.
It is a real graduation photo. The kids who are graduating this year are living in an extremely strange and uncertain world. Will they be going to college in the fall? If they're graduating from college, will there be any jobs? Many had summer jobs lined up that were outright cancelled. Many are still wondering if any part can be salvaged. When that money goes to pay for school, it makes it more difficult. Is school really worth $25,000 a year if you're doing it online? Yes, the kids who were going to be in the dorms can save a bundle. But the college my son goes to doesn't have housing for upperclassmen, so he has a signed lease for an apartment next year. That's a lot of money for watching taped lectures.
We did a silly photo with the parents, the son and toilet paper, but I thought the straight forward portrait said it all.
Good luck to everyone in this uncertain world. I hate the phrase "new normal". Hopefully this will never become normal.
