Quick entry. No too happy with the overall image, but I'm pretty pleased with what I was able to accomplish in post-processing. There were several outtakes, but this one seemed the most basic, no-frills solution to the challenge. I expect a 5.7-5.9 (my average lately).
I'm still trying to decide whether the DPC voting public is more interested in visually pleasing photos or photos that evoke some emotional response. I suspect it's a combination of both, but if this scores higher than 6, I'll be completely confused.

Pretty decent entry, but lighting is a little red and I think it might've been more effective if the wrench could've been sitting in the bottom of an old toolbox. Good job though.
Makes me think plumbing, but does nto make me think technology or even low technology. This is an item that has stood the test of time over the evolution of plumbing for quite some time. The image on the other hand is very well done: simple, focused and balanced with only the upper right section being too well lit compared to the rest of the shot. The border is great and the perfect color. High marks for composition and presentation, some loss on challenge interpretation from the viewer.
I really like this photo for it's simplicity but the border loses points. In my opinion, it's way too thick. A simple composition begs for a simple border. 7
This a good shot of a wrench, but think, these family of tools are still in use and consider that they are made in a high tech plant which meets incredible tolerences. They are manual devices but not low tech. 6
I like this picture quite a lot. I do think the wrench blends in with the background a bit much though ad the shadows are distracting. I like the composition enough to keep the score high. Fine work.
