Most of my woodland photography consists of back-lit or side-lit trees I typically look for trees with light coming from behind the trunk at a 33 degree angle. I love the simplicity of the image, just two trees, and a very conventional composition for a tree-scape, using the bottom of the tree's foliage as the photograph's top natural border. I lucked out with the light here, it was golden hour and I found an orange tree just as the light went gold.
Post processing was a typical medium/high contrast Curves treatment overall with additional contrast added to the trunk of the tree on the right using the dodge brush. The clarity was reduced a bit along with texture and I cropped it very slightly on the left to tighten it up a bit. That is basically it.
