I wonder if I will have anything left to learn when I finally understand why this picture pleases me as much as it does. I mean is it merely the strong composition, the unexpected but striking mirroring of the vertical elements, left front/right rear and all the straight edged shapes between? How much depends on the man with a dog disappearing into a telephone pole, on the dog's leash looking at once like its tail and then again (?) extending behind the man as if it were his little tail? What a wretched photograph. Thank you. |
