Taken of the pendulum at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. A long exposure in poor light as they were renovating the area and much of the lighting was inoperable. This demonstration shows the movement of the pendulum ball as well as the rotation of the earth on its axis. Each 31.5 minutes the earth rotates under the pendulum enough for it to knock down another dowel.
