I inherited this recipe from my mother but I've added stuff that she didn't list (Tabasco, garlic and olives.)
Ingredients : meat balls
500g (1lb.) fine mince beef
i egg, whisked with fork
2/3 cup bread crumbs
2/3 cup full cream milk powder
1 beef stock cube
1 onion finely chopped
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon minced garlic
A few grinds of black pepper
Ingredients: sauce
450 g tin of tomato puree
or similar quantity of home cooked tomato puree
1 onion chopped and sauteed
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (or to taste)
Some sliced black olives (optional, I only just did this for the first time)
Method
Mix meatball ingredients and roll into balls
Cook 20 minutes in oven preheated to 180 degrees celsius
Heat all ingredients for sauce
Add meatballs to sauce and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
Serve with pasta of choice and either salad or cooked vegetables
Garnish with grated cheese and/or grated parmesan cheese.
