My mom tried to grow some in a basket this year in Alabama.

Didn't work out too well.

They really are... but only for a very brief period in the spring... and only at sunrise or sunset on a fairly overcast day... certainly not worth becoming a Texan for... it is so unbelievably hot in the summer. But Spring? It is pretty awesome :)
