 A few years ago, in Frans Hals Museum we had the chance to see this formidable exhibit with arrangements of the Dutch table of the Golden Age in front of Hals' paintings.
Everything pales in comparison, reality and photographs but I saw fitting to interrupt the flow of Food and eating with ART

A lovely and bountiful snack for this troupe of muckety-mucks. It adds to your theme of the month, deepening the perspective through time. My only quibble is that the painting peeking out on the right pulls my vision out of the main focus -- unless that's a dieting aid. Need I mention the current "Dutch Masterpieces" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum? You're probably well aware of it. Think I'll go to the fridge for an apple.
