It's been a long winter. A very long winter. We've been inside. A lot. The ice and the piles of snow lingered. It was spring break. Everyone was cooped up inside and then, one magical day, the sun broke through and the wind stopped and the temperatures climbed almost to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. And we went outside. We all went outside.
The sky was blue and the birds came out, though tentatively, as if they hardly dared hope . . .
I took my camera out for a walk hoping catch one as it flew from a branch. No luck. And then I heard these kids. I retraced my steps and got a few shots - through the trees and above the chain link fence and from a distance.
The best of them was nothing at all like what I envisioned. But here it is.
My sincere thanks to those who felt the exuberance of these kids and especially to Mariuca and Marion who voted it particularly high :)
ETA And Penny Street, too :)

I love the story. It must be terrible to be cooped up inside for so long in the winter, thankfully we do not have those problems in sunny Western Australia.
