My alarm went off at 3.15, got out of bed, looked out of the window, cloudy and cold, thought “**** this for a game of soldiers” and climbed straight back in to the warmth of my bed. Tossed and turned for 20 minutes. Gave myself a good talking to and went and found camera, battery and lens. Realised tripod was in n car. Damn, where is the tripod mount plate? Turned out bags and pockets all over the place and then remembered it was on another lens. Nought like being organised. Sat in the garden in my jimjams and slippers, after 20 minutes went and fetched my coat. Two hours, me and the stars and the moon, in my ga den, in the cold. Absolutely magical. Mind you, I was knackered at work that day.
Focused manually using live view at10x magnification- with my lens that was a little shy of infinity. It was hard focussing - so cold! I also realised that I needed a new glasses prescription - one trip to the optician and £300 lighter 😟.

That is dedication! I am far too lazy to try this sort of photography and the thought of sitting in the garden at 3am is horrifying. However if it produces spectacular photos like this I may be swayed. Congrats and sorry about the dint to your purse from the new specs
