giving over so much image real estate to the cliffs themselves is a good move - underscores the menace to the lounging beachgoer

If its going to happen then it's going to happen, if it did happen could she have changed any of the myriad of events and conditioned ideas that led her to that point in time on that spot? Nice catch and I'm glad that someone else is a beaching with me.
