Editing: Crop, color correction, levels (with sand masked), adjust levels on sand, saturation, contrast, noise removal (sand masked), resize, unsharp mask, sharpen tool on sand, save for web.
Tried this several times and this is the best I could get. Used a Neutral Density filter (8) so I could use a longer shutter speed to get the flow of the sand. The title is a quote from the lyrics of the song "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.

Very nice photo. I somehow missed this one during voting. I also used a Kansas lyric for one of my entries in another challenge. But it was a more obscure song, and I'm pretty sure no one caught it. Congratulations on your first ribbon!
nICE TITLE FITS THE PICS APPROPRIATELY..MEETS THE CHALLENGE BUT COMPOSITION LACKS A LITTLE CREATIVITY..;LQQKS MORE LIKE AND AD TO SELL THE TIME PIECE...8 OUT OF 10 STARS
One of the few images that really captures the challenge theme. I like the subject, colors, levels, contrast, focus, DOF ... so in that sense it's virtually flawless. It's a little dark for my taste. But still among my top picks.
I love this picture. The lighting is great on the hourglass, the bottom is a little to shiney and the positiong seems a little off when you view it from the thumbnail, but with that said I still like it a lot and feel it meets the challeng 100%. Bumping to an 8
Simple classic approach is nice. I think I would have liked a bit more light and sharp focus rather than the shadowy emotive approach for this particular object, but a good shot and good interpretation.
