I'm guessing in colour this is a very bright bird (brain and body) but B&W really works and the shallow DoF accentuates the fine feathers. For me, the grey bit above the beak looks a little 'off' but the reat of the image more than makes up for that :)
Your title perfectly describes the feeling one gets from this parrot, who looks more prayerful than most humans so engaged. Beautiful depth of field and detail around the head, masterful tonal control throughout, serenity, nobility and benevolence. I'm quite willing to ascribe such character to her or him. I'd like to understand this powerful and subtle lesson.
