This photograph was taken at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. The soldier exchanged a few friendly words with a couple onlookers following the end of the ceremony. Not much editing... levels, USM, channel mixer, resize.

I love this photo. The angle is perfect with the subject looking away. What strikes me the most is that there is very little animation in your subject's expression, he's even wearing sunglasses for heaven's sake, yet you capture his interest or bemusement at something, hence your title. Am I right? For me, that makes this photo transcend the ordinary. I also like that you have your subject looking toward the left side of the frame, which gives it a wistful rather than a hopeful feeling. I just feel like he is looking at something that brings back a happy memory of something he longs for. All that from a picture of a guy standing and looking away from your camera. Quite amazing, actually.
dammit i wish this wan't basic editing, since his face is begging for a little dodging. composition is pretty basic, but the technicals are nice; well exposed and focused. in advanced editing this could be improved a ton in my opinion. in the absence of that - great job.
