This photo is an excellent display of perspective... The vanishing point is clearly visible and the choice to center this composition as you have accents that nicely. The lighting is creating an interesting mood that I can't decide if I really like or not... Possibly if there was more light on the scene, the contrast in the foreground may be a little stronger.
I think what this image may be lacking is a strong focal point. the vanishing point of the railroad tracks seems to be the main focus of the shot. I believe that a segment of track somewhere that had a sign or somethin that stands out in the image could create a bit stronger composition...
These train track/parallel line shots always look good. The way that this one is completely centered takes a little away, though. But the filtered sunlight is neat.
The perspective in this photo is effective, but it's a bit centred and formal. There's another railroad tracks shot like this that I've already rated, but it didn't have those trees on either side and had more of a sense of distance. I think the trees here cut down on the impact of the ralroad tracks.
Try cropping down from the top about 1 inch and I think you will see how dramatic this photo will be, you don't need the sunny spot on the top left, your perspective focus is straight down the tracks, a lovely photo.
Nice use of challenge, don't know that I am wild about the uneven lighting, although it adds some interest to a symetrical composition. The rocks look a little overly blue.
Oh, no. I hope there isn't a train coming the other way. :-) Great picture. I really like the lines of the rails and how they draw the eye almost indefinitely into the photo as if it goes on forever.
I think a slightly more titled camera, to lose the sky completely woul be stronger - the light patch in the upper left particularly pulls my eye out of the cut valley
