This is a shot from an abandoned neighborhood in Sharjah. If you Google ‘Sharjah ghost town’, you’ll quickly see photos of these sand dunes that completely overtook these homes. What’s really creepy is that some of these houses still had pictures on the walls! Here's an aerial view from Google Maps:
We drove out to this place not really knowing what to expect—turned out to be a 500 yard walk through dunes to get there, and it was 118 degrees that day. I got all of three shots that were composed and not shaky before I got overheated and had to walk back to the car.
Thanks to the Hit Squad for your great feedback on my shot, and thanks to all for the great votes and comments!

Thanks for all the extra effort Rob! I can't imagine walking in 118 degree heat let alone in sand on top of it. You deserve the blue just for that alone.
Love the composition and the extra near-death-defying efforts as well as the info in your description.
I didn't have time to provide the egg last night.
And now all we need is the story, I’m guessing some sort of stand storm caused this, since this is UAE, congratulations, thought it was the winner as soon as I saw it.
Wonderful photo showing the man vs. nature conflict! Given the height of the soil, Nature is slowly reclaiming her space. The patterns on the sand are like waves washing in as it sweeps into the interior of the building. Great light, wonderful detail and composition!
