My old Canon AE-1 side by side with Canon's latest and greatest amateur digital SLR, 20D.
This shot was taken with another Canon digital camera, the Powershot S410 in B&W mode. I held a Cokin Pastel 2 A87 filter in front of the lens to get the soft appearance.
Cloned out a Coke can and a used napkin off the table. Also cloned out dust and scratches on the surface of the table. Crop, Levels, Curves, Burn, Warming Photo Filter, slight Desaturation, Resize, USM, Border.

great concept but there is a white powdery lack of contrast which is super distracting. Perhaps put the compact in the shot and take the picture with the 20D
Great cameras, both of them. Funny though that the AE-1 is almost as old as I am. Good shot but kindof flat, could use a little boost in contrast, also the backround above the 10D (20D?) is a bit distracting.
