I was going to sit this one out, until I scanned my Santa Claus Parade photos. I had been fascinated by the vintage firetruck that was in the procession. Thought this might work.
Shot in Jpeg using my 28-135 IS @ 120mm.
In PS7:
-crop
-cloned out a distracting tree trunk in the upper right corner
-convert to sepia but then reduced the opacity of the layer to get a old vintage colour feel
-added a darker outer edge, brighter center, and played with contrast, and saturation a little
-USM and faded gaussian blur to get soft focus
-border
Not a portrait (as many will expect) but still symbolises heroes. There will likely be many fireman photos. Oh well.

Nice shot, almost an abstrack... it took me a moment to identify this as a fire truck. I'd have liked to see a shallower DOF to isolate the truck from the back wall.
This is a great idea, and very nice. I think; however, it could have been better if it were not cropped so tightly, or angled so that you could make out a piece of the form of the truck. The flat view of all of the reflection is a bit busy to my eye.
