 I took this photo of a friend of a friend at a childs birthday party. She was a few days away from the delivery of her first child. I thought her expression summed up all the feelings I had before giving birth to my child. She looks content and happy but a bit apprehensive and worried all at the same time.

Lacks punch. Better lighting might have helped, that shadow behind her is a bit distracting. Keep trying!

The composition and crop is good. The expression makes one wonder what she is thinking but mostly as a distant observer. The image doesnt really engage the viewer and bring them in, not that that is always necessary. I'm not really sure if black and white works here. The tone makes the image feel very cold and impersonal, as if the personality has been stripped away with the color.
