Real, as since ancient times we have been receiving coded messages in our coffee from aliens -- from outer space, that is. This one, in Sumerian, advises us to never walk under ladders. Recently a Persian shepherd in the Zagros Mountains received a message, written in Finnish, implying that whistling while you work is quite likely counterproductive.
