The big benefit of this shot is that it offers some questions for the viewer:
What are the bars in the forground for? Is the young man sitting there out of his own will? Why is he looking so sceptical? Is he watching something unexpected? Or was this sight unexpected to you? And if so, why?

But I can imagine that is was difficult for the voters to find the link to the unexpected find.
I like it much more than your outtake, which is just something very unsurprising.
