Several years ago my wife asked me to build a Screech Owl house for her parents who live in Roanoke, VA. We've never seen Screech Owls there but know they're native to the area. After arriving at my in laws on Thanksgiving day we watched as the first resident emerged. I was glad I brought my camera! The house was specifically built for Screech Owls which is exactly what moved in. I was really excited to get the squirrel in the shot on Thanksgiving day since they're a common part of the Screech Owl diet. Hence the title "Thanksgiving Truce".
My longest lens is only 200mm so I had to be stealthy to get this close. Minimal crop to straighten and minimal processing in Lightroom.
