The sun was shining at a low angle on the tree from the left, but not the red background. I zoomed slightly and god this strange effect.

Very intriguing difference between the deep, rich red of the background and the intense light on the bark of the tree. The camera motion really adds something to the image by focusing attention on the lines and shapes of the branches.
