Yes I know the crop sucks, but I didn't have much room for manouvering, so did the best I could. This nice young family was very cooperative, and let a total stranger catch them at play. They were only stopping and getting off the horse because Dad had turned up with lunch :-)

pp: convert to DNG, crop, vibrance/saturation, desat, slap around in NIK Silver and Sharpen. done.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that meets the challenge

You have met the challenge brief with this appropriate capture of a cooperative family enjoying the playground ‘horse’. I have less of a problem with the crop than I do with the moment, it would have been so much better if they had all been looking into the frame with a look of joy on their faces. You have handled the exposure well on this bright day, well done Susan.

does the crop suck? when you have a sufficiently interesting and complex subject I think it's okay to center it and almost fill the frame with it.

5.37? Sheesh. I gave it a 7 and thought it would be at least violin-worthy.

If only you'd have shouted "Say cheese!" instead of "Look away!!" :P :)
