 This elk cow was naturally killed by a mountain lion (or MLs) a couple of days ago, according to park personnel. Therefore, the park will allow the carcass to stay in place, as predators and scavengers perform their recycling behavior. Tonight at dusk, several coyotes were feasting on the carcass. RMNP. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF400mm f/4 DO IS II USM +1.4xIII, 1/800s@f/5.6, ISO 3200, lens focal length 560mm, 07/12/17 7:01pm. — at Rocky Mountain National Park.
