My original idea for this shoot was wildly different from this, but am glad I went this route and made use of the old sugar shack across the road from me. It makes a wonderful setting, and some may recognize the chain as one wielded last year by another bad guy :-)
Went for an old-school, more Hitchcock approach in both terms of lighting, use of b/w and subject matter...silly female where she doesn't belong and getting in serious trouble as a result. Hope it works!

post-challenge...3 am, tossing and turning due to the humidity, making sleep almost impossible so I get up for some water and decided to see how I did. Blinking through my sleep at the screen I stare blankly at the top row while my eyes adjust, seeing nothin...then I notice the red type in the upper left corner of the screen asking for validation. WTF???? I got third in an Expert challenge??? Am I being punked? WOOOOHOOOOOO! And damn now I'll never be able to get back to sleep!! :-)
BTW Posty's right, I was inspired by Weird Tales and its ilk.
Just in case anyone's a font geek, I used Back Issues BB for the panel copy, and Necrotype for the Nooo.... and Ahhhhhhh!!!

An interesting image that meets the challenge fully.
Congratulations for your well deserved ribbon Susan, fully justified. What a great comic strip, I like the theme and the execution it certainly has a Hitchcock feel, particularly the last frame, the mono presentation also adds melodrama to the end result. I love the second frame and the graphics, all done to perfection well done Susan.
