These are my work boots, caked with mud and debris. The leather is worn and the laces are breaking, but they are still comfortable and do a good job of keeping out the elements.
This shot was taken using two close-up filters (basically magnifying glasses). The image was slightly cropped, given a small color and contrast adjustment, and USM (still not sure what this does exactly, but it's popular, so why not?). The boot was lit with a spot light from the side while it sat on a pizza box on my living room table.

Great macro good color and sharpness. You cartured everything including the Rough texture of the leather. I feel this was perhaps to close of a crop and lost focus a little to fast to make this a realy interesting possibly a 9 photograph. While impressive from a photographic stand point. Its just not very interesting as a poster to hang on a wall. Keep Up the great work
I like the sense of light, almost of evening, in the focussed areas; but I find you composition distracting - mainly that section of lace passing through frame in the out of field section. I think you have made something that might have worked with greater simplicity too complex.
I like this. I think it's the warm color that really draws me in. Focus and clarity are really good, and I like the placement of everything within the photo. Lighting is really what makes this for me. The different textures are nice, and Overall, I can't really find anything I'd like to see differently. Very nice job, goodluck in the challenge. ~Heather~
